ARNE JACOBSEN for ANTON MICHELSEN, DANISH STAINLESS STEEL CUTLERY, SET OF FOUR PIECES. A rare Danish stainless steel, flatware cutlery set of eight pieces, comprising of two sets of two spoons and two forks. This cutlery was designed by Arne Jacobsen and produced by Anton Michelsen of Denmark. This classic design was originally designed in 1957 for use in the SAS Royal Hotel, Copenhagen. Jacobsen's minimalist flatware was later used in the 1968 epic science fiction film, 2001: A Space Odyssey, directed and produced by Stanley Kubrick.Each piece is impressed with the manufacture's mark A. Michelsen, Stainless, Denmark and designer's monogram. The largest spoon measures approximately 200mm in length and the forks measure approximately 190mm in length.
