Is 26 piece set of iconic Robert Welch designed Alveston cutlery is brand new, perfect and unused in it's original box and individual plastic packaging. It contains 6 dinner knives, 6 dinner forks, 6 soup spoons, 6 tea spoons and 2 serving spoons. I bought the cutlery in the 1990's and took out the desert knives and forks but have had no need to use the remainder in the box. Robert Welch's designs for the firm J & J Wiggin, which marketed Old Hall tableware, are some of the favourite collectables from the fifties and sixties.
They were a favourite wedding present, and like G-Plan, it was a brand people aspired to own. His designs capture the spirit of the age when Robert Welch used a new material, 18/10 stainless steel, to create some striking modern designs.

They manufactured this design in the Far East until recently and only stopped manufacture because it was too expensive to produce.. There is little difference in value between the newer and older versions. Although always collectable, there has been a renewed interest in Old Hall and particularly the Alveston range.Values are appreciating and it looks to be a good investment as well as being beautiful to use.
